Port Royal – The Dice Game Shop
Port Royal – The Dice Game

The Caribbean classic with pirate flair is back! The harbor of Port Royal is as lively as ever and players need to find more sailors, as quickly as possible. Across distant islands they will recruit helpful crew members and loot treasure. A pair of dice will toss them into unpredictable situations, and the more they risk, the further they can travel across their own map.

In Port Royal – The Dice Game, players exchange their cards for dice and pencils but the goal remains the same: hire the most capable crew and seek your fortunes across the open sea. They travel to nearby islands to hire new crew members and gain their valuable skills, but when they push their luck too far they might meet Davey Jones’ locker!

Each round in Port Royal – The Dice Game has two phases: first, the active player rolls the dice and the game board fills with different colored ship and ship wheel tokens. The more tokens you can place, the better, and you can roll the dice as many times as you like. But if the same ship appears twice and can’t be fended off with the help of your saber-rattling crew, it is a dark day indeed—the player rolling the dice ends their turn empty-handed while the others at the table can fill their pockets. If the active player manages to stop in time, they can exchange tokens for actions on their own game board, gaining a bonus either to reach new islands or to gain first access to new effects. Who will manage to sail away from the other players?

Zilence

The zombie apocalypse has arrived and the only good news is you are still breathing! You are one of a small band of survivors hunkered down in the center of the city, planning your brave escape past hordes of lumbering undead. Time is running out—can you quickly and silently gather the supplies necessary for survival as you plan your route through the labyrinthine streets? The clock starts ticking…NOW!

In Zilence, two to four players will examine twelve potential escape routes that wind through the city, but must stay calm and focused because they will only have 20 seconds to identify the best path to freedom that includes items critical for survival.

At the start of each round, each player will draw cards that represent three items they have been asked to locate. Once everyone is ready, a marker is revealed that identifies which three of the twelve possible paths out of the city are active, and it also triggers the start of the 20-second timer! Everyone playing must quickly scan the paths using only their eyes, trying to scavenge as many of their wanted items as possible. Once the timer runs out, all players secretly commit to one of the three paths, then simultaneously reveal their choices.

One by one, each of the three paths is traced to see what supplies were located, resulting in new items for anyone who was successful. Lastly, players prepare for the next round by changing the city board layout, revealing a new set of paths to explore. Whoever can collect all 12 of their items first, will win!

5 Towers (Deep Print Games) (English Edition)

In 5 Towers players compete as master architects to build the city’s highest towers. Each round, 5 cards – the building blocks of the towers – are up for bidding. The player willing to take the most of them wins them and must add them onto their own growing towers. But why not just take all of them? But one can only build one tower of each type, and the values of the cards in each tower must gracefully decrease as building them up, so taking too many at once restricts future bids. When the last brick has been laid, the player with the most points wins.

Each card in a tower grants one point. If that tower is graced with a tower top, its cards are worth two instead. The cards in a player's highest tower are worth another point still, while any cards tored down in the course of building will cost points.

5 Towers is an entertaining card game that is all about clever planning and never taking your eyes off the fellow players. Kasper Lapp, known for his innovative card games like That’s not a hat, strikes again with surprising depth that only unfolds during the course of the game. The vibrant illustrations by Annika Heller are filled with movie- and game references and bring a fun meta layer to the game.

Cat in the Box (English Edition)

Cat in the Box is an extraordinary trick-taking game about quantum mechanics and cats. Like Schrödinger's famous thought experiment, the cats on the cards only take on their final state or color the moment they are played.

At the beginning of each round all cards are dealt, and players must bid how many tricks they believe they will win with their hand of cards. Next, the lead player will play the first card and declare a color. As cards have no inherent color, the color of any card is only identified when it is played. In turn, every other player plays a single card, often following the lead color. The highest valued card in the color led, or the highest valued red card (red is trump), wins the trick.

Eventually, a player will either choose not to follow the color led or will discover they cannot play a card of the required value. When this occurs, they declare a different color but will lose the ability to play the original color for the rest of the game. Each color & number combination may only be played one time in a game. Players will track this using the research board, by placing a marker of their color on the corresponding field.

Once all cards in the hand have been played, or if one person finds themselves in a situation where they cannot play any of their cards (a paradox occurs), the game ends. Points are awarded for the number of tricks won. In addition, connected squares on the research board that are occupied with your own markers will score extra points, only if you won the same number of tricks as your original bid.

In the Werewolves Big Box, you’ll find that the night is filled with lurking creatures who have come to make mischief: not only must you keep watch for werewolves, but also vampires! Can the villagers unmask the monsters hiding in their midst, and banish them all before the final victim falls?

Werewolves Big Box includes two classic, team-based social deduction games, Werewolves and Night of the Vampires, either of which can be played independently or combined together for an epic experience. With the Werewolves Big Box, you can run games for large groups of up to 50 players. This limited edition release includes the hard-to-find promo cards Stray Cat and Watchdog, plus a notepad and pencil.

The core game experience remains the same: each night the creatures, whether vampires or werewolves, choose in secret to devour a single human villager. The grisly scene is discovered the next morning, and everyone left alive must try to identify who among them is actually a vampire or werewolf in disguise. After a vote, the angry mob will lynch the most suspicious candidate…always hoping they chose correctly. Multiple unique characters, such as the insomniac, the mayor, and the investigator, have special abilities to better unmask the monsters, but will anyone believe them before it’s too late?

Djinn (English Edition)

In Djinn, players take on the role of eager apprentices of the Academy of Magical Arts who are tasked with protecting a vital resource by capturing the creatures who threaten it. These beings of dubious character, the Djinn, have begun to appear around the city and challenge access to the Magical Source found at the center of town.

Players will race to collect the necessary resources and materials to craft special Djinn bottles made from dragon glass, into which they can trap these beings and seal them away forever using a special cork. While visiting each location, including the Academy, Archives, Manufactory, and the Market, they will gain valuable Magic Power, unearth hidden Treasures, create Secret Passages, and even find allies for hire at the Tavern. Only those who cleverly plan their travel route can take on the most powerful Boss Djinn and receive valuable Trophies from the Magic Guild.

Once players are comfortable with the core mechanics, incorporate the variable board setup, end game Scoring Cards, and Character Tiles, to reveal fresh asymmetric challenges. Designer Benjamin Schwer has crafted a clever and atmospheric game that rewards both long-term strategic planning and flexibility. Every game of Djinn will present a new puzzle to decipher and explore.

Is a microwave more important to humanity than diapers? How differently does a rocking horse move compared to a windshield wiper? And don’t a pizza cutter and a unicycle look similar in some way?

The Same Game is a cooperative game in which players will discuss how completely different objects might share something in common across various categories. But beware: there is a trap hidden behind one of the categories! Give the right clues, avoid the trap and win together.

Each person draws an object card and find a different object that be similar in one category – but different in all others.
Then the rest of the game group must decide together in which categories the two objects differ. Categories are gradually excluded, for which the group receives points. Can you manage to master all the levels?

Havalandi (Edition Spielwiese) (English Edition)

Standing at the railing of a viewing pavilion mesmerized by countless colorful hot air balloons rising in the distance - this is the idyllic scene presented by Havalandi, a new game by Reiner Knizia.

Players must take flight with their own hot air balloons as they compete to draw the attention of onlookers with the most impressive display of these fanciful aircraft. Each player arrives on launch day with their own collection of balloons. The landscape is divided into areas of meadow, tulip fields, sand dunes, and gravel paths. Along the periphery are special pavilions where visitors can see these graceful balloons up close.

Each turn, an airship that circles the board will present two possible directions for the placement of the next balloon. Alternatively, a player may choose to expand an existing balloon group in a nearby region. Points are scored by cleverly selecting where to set each balloon, whether landscape or next to a pavilion. The greatest number of points will be scored by launching a fleet of balloons that spans multiple landscape types.

End-game score cards, three special balloons with unique abilities, and a double-sided game board offer additional challenges and variety.

As the morning sun tentatively rises above the high moor, its light filters through the remaining mist. The ground beneath the swaying, ancient trees is a haven for specialized animals and plants, making this an important place for our environment.

In Moorland players bring life to their own little moor by populating it with various plants and animals. Form a clever network of waterways to “drift” the plant markers to the right places. Only then can one play the most rewarding cards into one's moor and create a better ecosystem than one's opponents.
